Cable & Wireless Seychelles – Radio planning by a small operator for 2G, 3G and 4G
Cable & Wireless Seychelles is a mobile operator on the small island nation of Seychelles, an archipelago of over 115 islands with approximately 95,000 inhabitants.
Cable & Wireless Seychelles wanted to improve the performance of their existing 2G and 3G networks and were looking to deploy LTE and LTE-A. They required a network planning solution with the capability to support the 3G dual-carrier technology in use for their High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) network, and one that could deliver an optimal design for their LTE network. They needed to achieve these performance improvements while keeping CAPEX and OPEX spend to a minimum.
Planning and maintaining a mobile network that properly covers the vast geography of the Seychelles – over 115 islands – and its widely dispersed population, as well as supports the densely populated areas, was a unique challenge that required innovative thinking and a flexible and intelligent approach to network planning.
TEOCO provided ASSET Radio with 2G, 3G and 4G licenses to help Cable & Wireless increase the accuracy and effectiveness of planned improvements across all networks, and also improved the efficiency of its business processes. TEOCO also provided training to the C&W staff to ensure they were able to get maximum benefit from all of ASSET’s capabilities.
