Service Assurance Framework
Service Assurance Framework is the foundation layer of TEOCO’s Helix® Service Assurance softwares, which serves our various solutions and provides core capabilities to handle large scale networks, multiple technologies, domains and vendors. The framework includes TEOCO Mediation, Studio, the integrated GUI based SDK (software defined kit) for rapid implementations and APIs, as well as Base Configuration for storing the networks’ topology and inventory, plus Geo components, and topology views.
TEOCO’s MEDIATION – A ROBUST BI-DIRECTIONAL PLATFORM FOR ALL FCAPS FUNCTIONALITIES
Mediation collects data from the network and then sends commands back to the network. This proven and scalable platform is used by many tier-one and tier-two customers worldwide for various network technologies, such as IP, LTE, ATM, FR, SONET/SDH, CDMA, GSM and LTE. With its distributed and scalable multi-threaded architecture, Mediation can collect data from multiple sources, and delivers real-time assurance capabilities.
RAPID IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW SERVICES
To bring new network and service technologies to the market promptly, you need the ability to rapidly create “libraries” (network plug-ins) that process data from vendor equipment, to supply meaningful and uniformed information to your OSS/BSS applications. These libraries consist of a set of implementation rules specified for certain vendors, technologies, connectivity, network elements, versions and data types. Studio enables you to build and implement your own mediation libraries atop the ones provided, according to your specific definitions and standards, in a flexible and automated manner.
SINGLE, CONSOLIDATED FOUNDATION LAYER
Mediation uses a configuration data model to enrich alarms and present performance reports. It makes use of both external data sources, and raw data arriving from the network elements and element managers. Correlation between performance, service and fault data can be achieved using the advanced transform capabilities to reduce total cost of ownerships and CAPEX.
