TEOCO Wins Catalyst Award for 5G Intelligent Service Operations

TM Forum’s award recognizes the Catalyst teams outstanding work in solving real-world challenges making future opportunities a reality

Fairfax, VA., USA – 24 May 2018.  TEOCO, the leading provider of planning & optimization, assurance and analytics solutions to over 300 communication service providers (CSPs) worldwide, today announced that its Catalyst project 5G Intelligent Service Operations has been selected as a winner in TM Forum’s 2018 Catalyst Awards at Digital Transformation World in Nice. Championed by AT&T, BT Group, KDDI Research, Vodafone, NTT Group, Orange Group, Telenor, and TIM, 5G Intelligent Service Operations was recognized for Outstanding Catalyst Communications.

Catalysts are member-driven proof-of-concept projects which connect diverse organizations to develop innovative, commercially viable prototypes of new digital services and business models. Twice per year, TM Forum recognizes the Catalyst teams who have demonstrated outstanding work in developing solutions to the challenges that the industry is facing. The winning programs were selected from 24 Catalysts, all of which were showcased at this year’s Digital Transformation World.

“The Catalyst projects showcased at Digital Transformation World 2018 were incredibly innovative and demonstrated real solutions to industry challenges,” said Andy Tiller, EVP Collaboration and Innovation, TM Forum. “Catalysts showcase the power of collaboration enabled by TM Forum, and bring together a wide range of companies, industries and ecosystems. Our sincere congratulations to the winners and to all those who participated for their outstanding work.”

“This Catalyst demonstrates how CSPs can enable new revenue streams by managing and launching 5G slice-based services including 4K video streaming, drone-based broadcasting and IoT-provided statistics at events like the Tour de France. Service assurance plays a vital role in ensuring the successful deployment of these 5G services, which introduce higher levels of operational complexity and the need to process, analyze and act upon data generated by both the network and the IoT devices. Effective service level monitoring and policy management will be paramount to ensure CSP customer satisfaction,” said Shachar Ebel, Chief Technology Officer at TEOCO.  “We are proud to have played a leading role in this Catalyst alongside our collaborators. The resulting open ecosystem demonstrates how closed-loop automation can ensure quality of service across dynamic and static network slices, combining content such as drone data and flight path with service and network measurements allowing these new-generation services to be operationalized, orchestrated and monetized.”

More than 100 member companies and hundreds of individuals participated in the 2018 Catalyst projects, which spanned Open APIs, SDN & NFV, digital health, data monetization, AI, blockchain, smart cities, the Internet of Everything and more.

The winners of the 2018 Catalyst Awards were judged by TM Forum’s Collaboration Sub-Committee, which oversees the effective creation and adoption of pragmatic best practices and standards, delivering value to the membership by meeting industry needs.
