The Assistant Controller is responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of accounting transactions and financial statements while conforming to the processes and procedures of the applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements. This role will report directly to the Corporate Controller, and will manage a team of two accountants. Accurate and timely completion of month end closing for two US entities, one Costa Rica subsidiary, and one related party entity.


  • Accurate and timely completion of month end closing for two US entities, one Costa Rica subsidiary, and one related party entity
  • Review of multi-state payroll process including 280+ employees including all wage related filings in these different states and jurisdictions
  • Preparation of accurate and timely weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Review of all Purchase Order requests, Accounts Payable and Cash Disbursements for Americas Region
  • Preparation of accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of monthly reporting package including variance analysis
  • Work with the Corporate Controller to prepare tax provision and maintain accurate tax forecasts for state and federal deposits
  • Various tax filings, including but not limited to:
  • Annual Form 1099s (-MISC, -DIV, -B)
  • Annual Form 3921
  • Property taxes
  • Franchise taxes
  • Business Professional and Occupational License (BPOL)
  • Compiling requested information for the annual financial statement audit
  • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations, and maintain solutions to business and financial problems


  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting/Finance/Economics), and a CPA
  • Experience in the Computer Software / Information Technology industry is preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with US Federal and State taxes preferred
  • Experience with SAP Business One is preferred
  • Exceptional eye for detail and are comfortable managing very large amounts of data
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet assigned deadlines
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required, able to connect with remote multi-national teams
  • Experience working in a global environment preferred
