The 5G Ride On! Catalyst

Autonomous Network management is required for resolving new use cases that are not fully answered by today’s networks. One of these use cases is extreme weather events that are happening more frequently in recent years.

The catalyst project would like to harness the dynamic 5G network capabilities together with autonomous management capabilities to assist with both life-critical operations (e.g. flooding, waste management) and support of enterprises in dealing with the consequences of such weather events, focusing on the need of electric vehicle infrastructure and ecosystem. In both cases cross-operator (or cross-cloud) models are required, that is: life critical operations will need to seamlessly move from one operator (or cloud) to another, enterprises will often also require 100% coverage to consumer services across the geographies they operate in, both nationally and internationally.
