The geo-location engine calculates locations based on all relevant information for positioning (one-way, two-way, three-way) to display reliable traffic coverage, RF conditions and full subscriber data. All these elements have different applications and can be used to: identify traffic hotspots, bottlenecks, equipment types problems, indoor coverage levels, and more. The geo-location engine can also follow customers’ moving call routes by assigning geo tags to each fragment of a call, performing virtual drive tests. This offers an alternative to costly and resource-consuming manual drive tests, used to assess the quality of moving calls.

GEO-LOCATE ALL CALLS AND EVENTS

Our technology agnostic geo-location algorithms represent all calls: static/moving, indoor/outdoor traffic, short/long calls, all services, and special events drops, IRAT, without requiring external information, or using predictions. The geo-location module uses call-trace data to locate individual events within calls: propagation delay, signal measurements. This information is then aggregated with geographical information and vendor-specific material into a thorough call geo-mapping, which ensure the accuracy of the calls positioned.

LEVERAGING GEO-LOCATION FOR IMPROVED NETWORK PLANNING

ASSET Geo creates traffic maps based on actual measured traffic from the network which is geo-located with the help of sophisticated algorithms. These traffic maps consist of multiple layers and show traffic on a per bearer, per service or per UE basis. Leveraging these maps allows not only highly accurate placement of new sites but also analysis of specific services or bearers allowing a planning engineer to design for specific usage and not just traffic volume. Adjusting network parameters within ASSET provides ‘what-if’ scenarios to be modeled helping engineers to understand how load distribution changes given certain criteria and constraints.
