-
Overview
Netrac Framework is comprised from a set of products that provides system wide services to all of Netrac products.
Netrac Base Configuration (BC)
Netrac Base Configuration (BC) is an infrastructure product of TEOCO used by its assurance applications for a number of purposes. BC holds the network configuration data that is needed for assurance products.
The different TEOCO solutions use BC for various purposes:- Netrac Fault applications use BC for alarms enrichment, topology based correlation and trouble ticket attributes.
- Netrac Performance applications inherit network entities from which they collect performance measurements, determine aggregation rules, and enrich Threshold Crossing Alarms (TCA).
- Netrac Service Management solution use BC information to build service model and for reporting on status of resources, services and customers.
BC holds physical information such as network geographical definitions, equipment (NE structure down to the port level), and physical links connecting them. In addition, BC contains wireless entities such as cell sites, sectors, frequencies and more. It holds logical information of facilities and circuits, internal connections, interfaces and other NGN entities such as VRF and VLAN. In addition, BC holds information of services, customers and their subscriber devices.
NetImport
Large scale dynamic networks make the task of manually updating network and service assurance repositories a challenging assignment. Operators need a flexible tool that can import configuration data and that will allow efficient management of the network. An accurate assurance repository data will ensure the precise root-cause detection, proactive performance management and more.
The NetImport module, an extension module of Base Configuration, is used to import configuration data from external data sources into Base Configuration. NetImport is used for initial population of Base Configuration and later on to update the configuration with changes occurring in the network.
Netrac Topology Views
Netracs Topology Views is a user-friendly graphical drag-and-drop application that shows network health at-a-glance. Users have the flexibility to look at different sections of the network topology, and the internal configuration of equipment in multiple views.
Since Topology Views is pre-integrated with Netracs Fault and Performance management systems, users can also view fault and performance information. This holistic way of looking at the network assurance information makes it easier to access and comprehend the true health status of the network. -
Benefits
- Increases efficiency by allowing network operators to access and decipher the source of events in the network.
- Provides a clear at-a-glance view of network health, thus enabling quick understanding of major network events.
- Reduces integration cost by leveraging the pre-integration benefits of TTI’s Fault and Performance Management systems
- Enhances the holistic view of assurance data by displaying fault and performance information in a collaborative manner.

Features
Base Configuration & NetImport
- Configuration Editing
- Configuration Import
- Convergence of various data sources
- Automatic discrepancy handling – The NetImport handles the configuration changes automatically with no user intervention.
- Additional Attributes - In addition to the default attributes assigned to BC entities, BC enables adding supplementary attributes to the entities.
- Network Configuration Viewer
- Network Navigation - BC enables network navigation throughout the physical, logical and service data.
- Find Mechanism
- Partitioning – BC supports data partitioning to allow exposing different pieces of information to different groups of users. The partitioning stamping is done using NetImport.
Topology Views
- Graphical View of the Network – a graphic display of a user-defined section of the network.
- Network View by Service – a graphic display of service network topology.
- Schematic view of the Equipment – a hierarchical tree view of the equipment’s physical structure.
- Hopping View – displays the surrounded network of specific NE.
- Alarm Layer – displays the alarm status of the managed network entities. A user can filter an alarm display by choosing one filter from the list of Netrac FaM filters.
- Performance Layer – displays the performance measurements of the network entities based on user-defined coloring rules
- Network segmentation – allows users to view different sections of the network, enabling them to create new personalized views using an easy-to-use wizard tool and drag-and-drop capabilities.
- Personalization – allows users to create, adjust, save, and share their own views.
- Grouping – the network view objects can be grouped either manually or automatically based on Base Configuration information such as geographical hierarchy.
