INroute

  • Overview

Until recently, Least Cost Routing (LCR) was a cumbersome manual process of loading a limited set of routes onto an array of multi-vendor switches, then synchronizing the routes on the switches to the constantly changing rate sheets coming in. The new approach to LCR is to bypass the painstaking switch updating process altogether by dipping a database on a dedicated server that call-by-call forwards the routing instructions to the switches in real-time.

By acting like an SCP, INroute works with TEOCO’s least cost routing solutions (Acuité and AcuWorld) to enable service providers to support an almost endless amount of routes by eliminating dependency on switch translations, enabling service providers to deliver more content and services over their network at a lower cost, and with greater efficiency. INroute is the clear solution for materially reducing operating costs.

    Migrating to NextGen Networks

Today’s service providers are working to upgrade their networks with the latest in 4G, VoIP and LTE technologies. Most service providers are managing a hybrid network that combines both legacy TDM switches with next-gen network elements. INroute, TEOCO’s newest addition to its least cost routing suite of products, is the solution of choice to manage call routing in complex, hybrid switch environments.

INroute manages the routing needs of these hybrid networks by managing both TDM based and next-gen technologies such as IMS, SBC, Softswitch, and VoIP; helping to extend the life of your existing network infrastructure while transitioning to today’s next-gen technologies.

  • Benefits

    • Maximum cost savings due to digit routing.  With up to 1.5 billion routing transaction, INroute frees the carrier from the switch’s digit limitations
    • U.S. based call jurisdiction allows for the optimal routing policy to be applied based upon Inter/IntraState and Inter/IntraMTA
    • No blending of vendor rates resulting in more accurate routing and fewer disputes
    • Local and Global Number portability correction terminates calls to the right terminating carrier
    • Time-of-Day / Day-of-Week routing takes advantage of every cost savings
    • Grooming of traffic by Percent, Proportional, and Sequential Routing allows network facilities to be maximized while improving quality
    • True customer specific routing to meet specific customer vendor termination, margin or quality goals
    • The best possible margin management through the ability to accept only profitable traffic from specific wholesale customers
    • Provisioning a single centralized routing database eliminates the cost and complexity of provisioning every switch in the network
  • Features

    • High-availability (100% availability) of query services is achieved through the deployment of multiple, geographically dispersed, fully replicated Edge servers
    • Queries – Each Edge server is independently capable of responding to queries
      • Over 5,000 queries per second / per Edge server
      • Over 50,000 Updates per minute
    • Protocols supported on the Edge include:
      • SIP, ENUM, SS7/AIN 0.2, C7/INAP
    • GigE, Fiber, and SIGTRAN (M3UA) network interfaces
    • Updates are asynchronously replicated to distributed Edge servers in near real-time
    • Blocking for specific Customers and/or Destinations
    • Bilateral routes with percentage or proportional routing across multiple switches and trunks
