Donation helps deliver Self Driving Car STEM camp for students in North Texas

FAIRFAX, VA., USA – 24 August 2017: TEOCO, a leading provider of analytics, assurance and optimization solutions to over 300 communication service providers (CSPs) and OEMs worldwide, today announced its investment in Tech Titan’s STEM Workforce Initiative. The initiative works to inspire the expansion of the number and diversity of North Texas students in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education pipeline.

TEOCO’s donation was a key enabler to the delivery of a Self-Driving Car STEM camp for over 110 seventh and eighth grade students in the city of Coppell, as well as to 40 students at the Tech Titans SMART girls STEM camp in the Wylie Independent School District in Collin County. Volunteers from TEOCO joined with other North Texas companies in support of the camp, preparing content and delivering presentations to the students, as well as providing TEOCO laptops on loan. TEOCO has also made its central Dallas office available to Tech Titans as a resource for planning and developing the camp curriculum, which will be used for additional in-class presentation and camps over the course of the next school year.

As the largest technology trade association in Texas, Tech Titan’s STEM Workforce Initiative aims to facilitate the technology community’s sustainable impact on building an emerging workforce through strategies that enhance STEM education. This comes at a time when high-tech companies in North Texas are anticipating a shortfall of workers in STEM disciplines by as much as 40 percent in the near future. Tech Titans is aiming to reverse this trend, raise career awareness and support career preparation in high demand STEM fields throughout high schools and middle schools.

“The initiative is overwhelmed and thankful for the support from TEOCO, which will continue to inspire the next generation into future careers in STEM,” said Dave Galley, Director of STEM Workforce Initiatives. “Support from companies like TEOCO allow us to work towards our vision of fostering the talent which will enable growth, sustainability and innovation in the technology industry, throughout the Northern Texas area.”

Atul Jain, Founder and CEO of TEOCO, said “It is truly wonderful to be able to support the STEM Workforce Initiative in North Texas. As a leading provider of analytics, TEOCO has a keen interest in investing in the next generation of STEM students by inspiring curiosity and innovation. As a company we have really enjoyed being a part of this initiative and will continue to donate time and resources to encourage young people to become more engaged with STEM subjects.”
